What is you're reaction to someone saying that we are all immigrants?

A) I know it seems that way while visiting east LA

B) I am 25% American indian..so I am 75% immigrant.

C) My ancestors, 150 years ago possibly were immigrants (unlike the illegal aliens)

D) I remember the Mayflower like it was yesterday!

E) The movie"Gangs of New York" must have confused you.

What is you're reaction to someone saying that we are all immigrants?
What exactly is the definition of immigrant. I thought that it meant a person who came here from another country. I, on the other hand was born in the great US. That would conclude that I am a red blooded American. Right? As far a illegal immigrants are concerned, We, the American people, cannot allow millions of illegal immigrants to just invade our country. However, immigrants who get into the country legally are just fine. America is the melting pot of the world, not just a country for white america. That idea is obsurd.
Reply:Well yes we are all immigrants, but if they are using that as an argument to justify illegal aliens, then I know that I am dealing with an extremely ignorant moron.
Reply:Okay, 99% of the countries population are immigrants or descendants of immigrants.Does this excuse illegal immigrants now? Not at all.
Reply:What cracks me up is to read posts from "all-American" patriots who want to make English the official language, against immigrants, and his and that.

Ony the Native Americans have an original language, English was imported by immigrants, and pretty much every bite of food they put in their mouths was in a recipe by immigrants, or ingredients brought here by immigrants...
Reply:My family didn't break any laws to come here.

(although there was that elopement, with daddy chasing them all the way to the ship that brought them here)
Reply:My reaction: Well, I'm not an immigrant but my ancestors were. I'm not Native American.
Reply:We were all Spores at one time too.

How far back do you want to go?

The real issue is this is our land and we're not giving it away to a bunch of lying, cheating, conniving lawbreaking criminal illegal alien foreign nationals.

No matter how much they WHINE!
Reply:We all have roots from various places. If you are born in the country that you live, by definition you are a native. If you go through the proper channels to enter a country, then you are a welcomed guest. If you become a citizen, then you are a naturalized citizen. If you enter the country illegally, then you have broken the law and you are a criminal. When a person says, "We are all immigrants...." My answer is, "And your point is????"
Reply:My reaction is as follows, and it has made as many enemies as friends. Incidentally the enemies as well as the friends define me very well.

The issue in question has nothing to do with LEGAL immigration. Is there any possible way to get that through a THICK skull, or should I just give and quit kicking a dead horse. BTW, it is NOT a racial issue either.

It has to do with ILLEGAL aliens. That means all who a not legal, not just Mexicans, not just Central Americans, need I list every nation on Earth or can you find those elsewhere?

WHY,OH WHY, do so many "educated, enlightened, intelligent" people have so much trouble with that word?

ILLEGAL=UNLAWFUL=CRIMINAL=LAW BREAKER etc.

It is a bad as Clinton asking for the definition of the word "IS".

Sorry but I am getting tired of making this point.
Reply:it depends on the type of immigrant you are. Yeah we are all immigrants however some of us come illegally to exploit this country and send money out of our economy by wiring it back to their homeland, using our public schools and hospitals and not paying taxes- i heard all the arguments that illegals pay sales tax and property tat with their rent but they do not foot the same bill as documented Americans who work till the middle of April just to pay income taxes.
Reply:F) "So what?"

also c)

but D is the best.
Reply:They have no viable argument as to why middle-class Americans should be forced to pick-up the tab for illegal immigrants!
Reply:How can I be an immigrant if I was born here.
Reply:lol how bout a and c. I'm not sure about e since I havent seen the movie.

Either way, I see where you are coming from. Bottom line is: I was born here (to legal parents) and are not an immigrant.
Reply:My mother was a Mexican citizen when she died even though she lived in the US most of her adult life so she was an immigrant.
Reply:We all immigrated from somewhere or at least our ancestors did huh?
Reply:A,B,C,D, and E. Add in a few cursewords (pending on what they say) and there you go!
Reply:According to US statutes those born here are not immigrants we are citizens.
Reply:my dear fellow, i am not confused. you are more than confused. you see, your ancestors stole the land where you live from the red indians. you the so called white americans are all sons of illegal immigrants, muggers, thieves, rapists and so on. as long as there is white race in america. it is you who are illegal immigrants
Reply:Legal immigrants deserve respect. Illegal aliens are law breakers who do not deserve jobs, amnesty, educational subsidies, driver's licenses, and other benefits at the expense of U.S. taxpayers. Illegal aliens first should be encouraged to Go Home voluntarily and then humanely deported as the law requires. Once the public recognizes that jobs and benefits equal encouragement the public will truly press for the flow to cease. Amnesties for illegal aliens have clearly made the problem worse and should be vigorously opposed.

My ancestors came to the New World in 1702,they were not illegal in any way shape or form.I am a native born American.

I didn't immigrate here from anywhere ,so that lame argument just isn't applicable in this century.
Reply:It's another cheap infatuation.
