...what, if anything, comes to mind when reading these words below ?...I thought of my Dad, who survived WWII, I thought of the Mayflower, of myself when battling a chronic illness...what about you ?
"A storm is raging. Nevertheless they go forward in their madness. The air becomes difficult to breath. The abyss yawns below them. Some fall. Others stop and retrace their steps; there is a sad weariness. The bold ones continue. They are eyed by the eagles; the lightning plays about them: the hurricane is furious. No matter, they persevere"
written by Victor Hugo 1802-1885, French Poet, Dramatist, Novelist...
Are these words to live by?
This reminds me of some difficult times in my life as these storms rage out of control, it does make it hard to breathe as the stress builds all around, as you seek a way through the mess, seemingly no one can help you. You seek and trust only God to help as He is the only one that is understanding of your heart and circumstance. Therefore you are bold and take the path that seems to be the hardest, because you know by the way you feel that it's truth that your heart seeks, as the eyes from above guide you through the experience, that your spirit would learn, and that the truth would set you free.
Reply:Not exactly. Should have been, "in the madness." The madness is not theirs, to those who know the course of perseverance.
