Why did the first colonists come to America?
The Colonists came to escape religious persecution and to enjoy greater political freedom.....Though there were several colonies in which one religion was endorsed...thanfully we got it figured out a little better by the time the Constitution was written.....
Reply:u know they made a huge mistake:)
Reply:they were searching for India, which was big in trade in those days. Columbus thought he had reached India when he first came to America. He met the people of the land and called them Indians. Later the confusion was cleared and Columbus thus became the discoverer of a new land, the Indians of the new land were then termed Red Indians ...

the colonists typically started business with any nation, next to get better business deals they would get involved in the poltics (like bush favors gas companies by Iraq War), then finally to take a huge profit they would colonize the country ...
