How did the citizenship of the pilgrims change? when did it? ? ?
It didn't change until 1776. In fact, Britain didn't have "citizenship" in the 15th Century -- or until the 20th Century (nationality laws of 1914, 1948 and 1981 gradually introduced the concept).



They had "allegiance" to the King; and domicile (which determined what law applie).



There were many interesting cases after 1776 on whether a particular person was British or American. Especially those who went to Canada at the time of the Revolution, and those who returned later from Canada. Because in those days, only a citizen could own, or inherit, land in many places.
