Can she join any organizations. My friend can trace her family line?

back to the Mayflower. Does that make her special?

She can join the Mayflower Society. The Society requires strict documentation, however, so if her links are made via internet postings or similar dubious sources, she'll be unlikely to prove her lines to the level required. If she's interested, she'll have to contact her state Mayflower Soc'y for an application, etc.

It doesn't make her especially "special." Most people who can trace their ancestry to colonial New England (which is a good number of people, prob. at least a quarter of the U.S. population) would have at least one Mayflower line. I have about ten Mayflower ancestors myself (so-far) and prob. other lines I haven't found yet.

Reply:No, it makes her ancestors special. She can try this site:

http://www.ctmayflower.org/ But she must have documentation and it's out of Connecticut.

Reply:Well if she has any ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War, then she can join Daughters of the American Revolution.
