Are any other Americans sick enough to emmigrate?

My family came to the "new world" on the Mayflower, so my family is one of the original immigrants. I am a military veteran and have always loved my country, but I am so sick of Bush's war tactics. He seems to have this chip on his shoulder and wants to take over the world. I think we're heading for WW III. I'm sick of the laws here allowing pedophiles and other violent criminals off with a slap on the wrist. I'm sick of living in the wealthiest country in the world, but if you aren't in near perfect health, you can't get health insurance. The middle class seem to becoming extinct - the rich seem to keep making it harder for the poor (I'm not poor by the way, but I see how it's getting harder for those who have nothing). I think this country has gone so downhill, I'm serious thinking about emmigrating to another country. Does anyone else share my views?

Are any other Americans sick enough to emmigrate?
Hi,

Many Europeans share your views!!!

(say 98% share your views and look down on how Bush and his gov. and USA is doing internationally ever since many previous wars and international "nosy doctoring")

Happy to hear you belong to the few Americans who have finally waken up about the real system of the country you live in.

Tell your friends to watch SICKO film... it's an eyeopener!
Reply:No, because one thing about a problem is.....you cant run from it, you cant hide. yes Bush is messing everything up, but i guarantee there is somebody else in another country who feels the same way about their ruler but cant say it b/c they would be killed. thats why we have so many immigrants, so id rather stay here. there are many more good things here, dont let a rotten apple spoil the bunch.
Reply:As shitty as our country might seem to be right now, it's still the best country in the world. I've been all over the world and this place beats them all hands down. Why do you think people from other countries are dying to move here.

If I had to leave.... it'd be Switzerland.
Reply:well im english and when im 18 im moving to Los angeles oh by the way the guy who sed his phone came out 6 months l8ter in u.s is sooo wrong, i mean evrything comes out in the u.s first and then in uk, eg: the iphone has been out in u.s for a while and still isnt out in uk. america make better films, and everything, and ppl there are so freindly to tourists and ousiders. i mean i live in england and i already love the u.s. Im 13 now but when go to college im out of england and off to america, the weather is nicer too.
Reply:No. But, my parents arrived here in the early part of the 20th Century as immigrants from Norway. Of course, one of my ancestors did beat the Mayflower to North America by a few years. He landed at Lans Aux Meadows in Newfoundland about 984 A.D. And I spent 25 years in the Navy, getting the opportunity to visit and live in several foreign countries. I've come to realize that those countries have enormous problems as well. In addition, most of them have taxed the middle class in a draconian fashion. In many cases, that is one of the chief reasons their middle class decides to emigrate to here.

I also take not of the fact that our Federal poverty level is higher than the average household income of every nation to the South of us on this planet, with the exceptions of Australia and New Zealand.

As for the foreign policy actions of the President that you take issue with, that is self-correctable on January 20, 2009. But, his actions do not occur in a vacuum. The Congress must also take responsibility as well. Whiule everyone bemoans the loss of American lives in this war, that also has to be put into context. Nearly three times the number of active duty personnel died between 1980 and 1984. There were 7,500 active duty dead between 1993 and 2001. Yet, there was no national anguish over those figures. So, I'm free to assume most of the current angst is driven by political calculations rather than true compassion.
Reply:All part of the new world order,

the people who tell you everything is gonna be fine are just saying that so they can buy their tickets for the bunker when the cleanising happens

do you know that the military is building concentration camps in the united states

why build concentration camps in your own country?

and who do you tthink it's intending to fill them with?

iraqis?

There's always canada or any other developed nation that offers free health care, but i got a feeling this new world order thing is gonig to be in every country at one point or another
Reply:Not me. The US is the greatest country. We have the best economy, the best form of government, the strongest military, unlimited opportunity. We can go where we want and do what we want.

I love my country. I am grateful to be here, enjoying the benefits.

You are crying with a loaf of bread under your arm. If you are not happy, leave.
Reply:Dear as an American, and a wife of a proud USAF member I will tell you NO! My husband currently is serving overseas and we are here with him and I'll take America over England any day. They may have decent gun control but their laws do not protect their citizens or us while we are here. I recently had a british boy make a threat towards my baby and what do you think was done..Nothing absolutly nothing. This boy has done countless things and they do nothing they do not control thier youths at all! Eventually I predict sheer anarchy over here. There was even an incident where two teenaged boys stoned an elderly man to death and well they were given a 2 year sentence and only served 1 year of it. The grass may appear greener but often times its not! Granted I do not approve of the President but his time is almost up thank god!
Reply:Absolutely, my sister lives in Scottland and from what she's told me, not only are the people's lives there, generally better, but, that as a nation, we are more or less looked at disdainfully at best. This country has left no room for anyone who isn't well off, to grow or improve their situation. It's disgraceful.
Reply:Where could we go? All other countries have immigration laws that they follow. Since people don't have enough sense to see through the lies we will have a one world leader. I guess it will be a Clinton or Bush. Shake up all the top three candidates running on either side and pour one out. They're all the same.
Reply:No, I'm gonna stay, but since you're leaving, can I have all your stuff?
Reply:My Fiancee is American. As soon as she qualifies to work as a nurse in the UK, requires another 6 months work experience, then she shall be moving to the UK.

There isn't any benefit to live in the USA and it is far more beneficial to live in Europe. Not only the health and welfare but also employee rights.

You can be fired in the USA for being ill more than 5 days in a year, maternity is for 6 weeks and no payment is given (they also don't have to keep your job), at will employment mean that you can be fired for anything with no come back, very few holidays (I get 22 days minium whilst my fiancee gets a very good 10 days, most employee get 0 days for the first year then 5 days).

Not to mention that America has one of the highest violent crime rates in the world, Basra has a lower rate than Washington. School shooting seem to be getting common place with fox showing at least one a month, I'm guessing that easy access to guns is the problem.

America is even behind some western countries in technology. For example the phone I've had for 6 months is only just becoming available in the USA.
Reply:You are so right. The whole world agrees with you. Bush needs to be ambused, he dont care about the american people. He must have a brain tumour he is insane.
