My friend showed me a book of Mormon...?

And there was one thing I found really strange.

In the middle of the book there were these pictures. The first few were normal things: Jesus at the last supper, and being crusified.

But then the pictures started getting wierd. There was one of Jesus sailing on the Mayflower and another of Jesus preaching a sermon to the Aztecs or some Native American group.

Are these in evey Book of Mormon and are they for real?

My friend showed me a book of Mormon...?
Nobody is really answering your questions. I would suggest you read the Book of Mormon to get a better understanding of the pictures. I think I know which pictures you are speaking of.

The picture of the ship is not the Mayflower and not Jesus. I believe the one you speak of is of Lehi (the first prophet spoken of in the Book of Mormon) and his family on a ship to the America's.

The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ- it says that on the cover. In the book it talks about how after Jesus was crucified and Resurected, he visited the people living in the America's. The picture of him teaching, is him teaching the people who lived in the America's.

Really read the book and it will become more clear.

Mormons are not and never have been a violent people. There has never been any violence to those who chose not to join that was sanctioned by the leadership of the church. If there was violence- it was definately not sanctioned by the leadership of the church.
Reply:No, they are not for real... NO ARCHAELOGICAL EVIDENCE HAS EVER BEEN FOUND TO SUPPORT THE MORMON BELIEFS... NONE!!!

Any Mormon who would like to try to prove otherwise?
Reply:To answer you last question: No. It is not real.

It IS myth, fantasy and 19th century thought regarding the American Indians link to the Lost Tribes of Israel.

It is supported by "It's true if you feel good about it in your heart", and if that's not good enough, the Maxwell Institute trys really really hard to confuse the living sh!t of this doctrine.

It's not worth the time and effort trying to read this tripe (I did, several times. The phone book is better written and more interesting)
Reply:its not so much an addition to the bible as another testiment of christ, another witness, and one reason it is necessary is because the bible has been translated so many times, especially by the catholic church who would change it a great deal to fit what they wanted people to believe, and not what was the true gospel. The book of mormon was translated by a prophet of God through the power of God and thus contains the full gospel of Jesus Christ
Reply:Joseph Smith put no illustrations in the Book of Mormon. They are later additions by pious LDS. He did include three illustrations in the Book of Abraham, but I believe that is part of Doctrines %26amp; Covenants. There are no pictures of Jesus.

Reply:The pictures in the middle are to depict scenes from the book of Mormon. Example: Jesus was not sailing on the Mayflower, that was a family that was spoken of in the Book of Mormon who sailed to the Americas from Jerusalem. These pictures are not in every Book of Mormon though, you have to buy a special one like that from an LDS bookstore. One thing, I would ask everyone who has given these answers though is to look at the good that comes from the LDS Church. People change their lives to become good, it is definitely not a cult! No one forces you to believe in what the church teaches. I urge you to research on www.lds.org to see what the church really is about. It really does hurt when people who are supposed to be christians judge you, even when the Mormons do believe in Christ and definitely are christian people. Just because there is no evidence of Book of Mormon sites, doesn't mean it's not true.
Reply:They are made up pictures to go with their made up book.

Read Kingdom of the Cults by Dr. Walter Martin.
Reply:Ha, I've heard a lot of untrue, unusual things about the Book of Mormon and what Mormons supposedly believe, but this one is particularly funny. Mormons don't believe that Jesus sailed over on the Mayflower! Maybe it was a picture of him on some kind of ship (likely meant to depict when he sailed to the Americas from Jerusalem), but it certainly wasn't the Mayflower. Ask your friend about the pictures (assuming the Book of Mormon is his)

And kewlkatt, the Book of Mormon isn't an addition to the Bible. It's another testament of Jesus Christ, our Savior.'

To answer your question, no, the pictures and paintings of Christ are not in every Book of Mormon. Mine has no illustrations of Christ, although I have seen some that do.
Reply:well the religion of mormon did start in north america in the 1800s, i know this coz i tak history GCSE and we do american history and mormons are a big topic

but the mormons were often violent to the gentiles (people who didnt follow mormon rule)
